The concert will feature the piano works of the Three B’s – Bach, Beethoven, Brahms –
and Martin Luther, and will include sacred and classical selections such as Preludes and
Fugues, English Suite in G Minor by Bach, the ‘Moonlight’ Sonata by Beethoven, a
Prelude on ‘A Mighty Fortress’, shorter pieces by Brahms, and plenty of hymn singing!Dr. Mark Laverty is the Music Director at Lord of Life in Chesterfield, Missouri. He has
performed concerts throughout the United States and Europe and holds the Doctor of
Musical Arts Degree from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. In addition to
concertizing, Dr. Laverty maintains a thriving piano studio in Chesterfield where he
teaches students ranging in age from 8 to 80. As Music Director at Lord of Life, he directs
the choir, plays the piano and organ, and assists with church service planning.
